The onion and tomato combination have always done wonders. They usually form the base for most Indian curries. Here's an absolutely tasty onion and tomato chutney recipe which is easy to make and hardly takes any time.
This onion tomato chutney is quite a normal sight in every south indian house which is served along with hot and crispy doshas and idlis.
The main ingredient is onion in this and very little of tomato is used.

INGREDIENTS:-
- Onion - 4
- Tomato - 1 or just 1/2 is also enough
- Red chilli powder - 1 and 1/2 tsp ( adjust it according to the level of spice you require)
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 3 tbsp
- First chop the onions and tomatoes and keep it aside.
- Heat some oil in a kadai or a pan and add all the chopped onions once the oil is heated.
- Saute the onions till they turn translucent and and brown.
- Once this is done, add the tomatoes and let the tomatoes become a little soft.
- After that add salt, and red chilli powder as required and mix it well.
- Take it off the heat after a minute and allow this mixture to cool.
- Then blend this mixture and make it into a smooth mixture in a mixer or a blender.
- Serve it with nice hot and crispy doshas or idlis. You can also serve it with chapatis.
